Maurice's rowing journey began at the age of 12 with a free learn-to-row program at Bachelors Barge Club in his hometown, Philadelphia.
From winning the Philadelphia City Championships in his first year to becoming the first African American to represent the rowing team at the University of New South Wales, Maurice's journey has been marked by triumph and groundbreaking achievements.
Maurice graduated from Arcadia University with a degree in global security and emergency management. There, he claimed multiple championship titles while becoming a face of change and inspiration.
Maurice has 9 championship titles and counting, including 3 2023 USRowing National titles in the men’s quad, men’s lightweight single, and men’s lightweight double and gold at HOCR 2022 in men’s para inclusion double.
Maurice has secured several corporate sponsors, and aims to inspire others to chase their dreams and break barriers.
